The Dragons broke open a one-run game with a five-run fifth inning and held off a late Amsterdam charge to take down the Mohawks 10-8 at East Field on Sunday. Billy Barthel drove in three runs on a 3-for-4 night, Glens Falls out-hit Amsterdam 9-8 without an error on either side, and the win lifted the Dragons to 12-19.

Down 1-0 in the second, the Dragons answered with three — Taye Robinson scored on a wild pitch before Barthel ripped a two-run double to left. Tyler Worth's RBI single made it 4-1, and after Amsterdam pulled within 4-3 in the fifth, Glens Falls piled on: Tyler McKillop scored on a wild pitch, Derek Diaz lined a two-run single to right, David Yorke crossed on another wild pitch, and Barthel singled home Diaz for a 9-3 lead. Worth finished 2-for-4 with two RBI, and Diaz scored twice with two knocked in. Amsterdam kept swinging — Anthony DeCesare crushed a two-run homer in the sixth and Mason McCraine's two-run double in the ninth pulled the Mohawks within two before the door shut.

Cooper Montelbano set the tone with three sharp innings — two hits, one run, six strikeouts, no walks — and Dominick Weidtman recorded the final two outs. The Dragons stay home Thursday to host the Utica Blue Sox.
