Stallions Erupt for 13-Run Middle Innings, Bury Dragons 15-3

A tie game turned into a rout in a hurry Wednesday, as the Saugerties Stallions plated six in the fourth and seven in the fifth to bludgeon the Dragons 15-3 at Cantine Field. Glens Falls managed just four hits against Stallions pitching and drew even at 1-1 in the second, but Saugerties answered with 13 unanswered runs, dropping Glens Falls to 13-20 on the season.

Jack Rigabar's RBI single scored Taye Robinson to knot it early, and Jack Ploppert capped the night with a two-run double in the seventh that plated Billy Barthel and Will Rudolph. Those were the lone Dragons highlights. Saugerties battered the box score: Steven Ramirez went 3-for-4 with three RBI, Jack Beyl doubled twice and drove in two, and Cooper Schmidt added two RBI. Drew Freeman, Nick Croce, Michael Lebenson and Beyl all collected two hits apiece as the Stallions racked up 13 knocks and never made an error. The decisive fifth featured a bases-loaded walk parade and a Steven Ramirez steal of home.

RJ Ensel took the loss, charged with seven runs over four innings. Jay Creighton and Max Palermo were tagged for eight more out of the bullpen. Kyle McDermott earned the win for Saugerties with five innings of one-run ball. The Dragons return to East Field on Thursday to host the Utica Blue Sox.
