Krieger's Four Hits Power Stallions Past Dragons 13-1

Saugerties piled up 17 hits, scored in four straight innings and broke the game open with a six-run fifth in a 13-1 win over Glens Falls on Thursday at East Field. The Dragons managed three hits, committed four errors and did not push a run across until the sixth. The loss dropped the Dragons to 13-25.

Magnus Krieger did the heaviest damage, going 4-for-4 with four RBI: a run-scoring single in the third, another in the fourth and a two-run triple in the fifth. Nick Croce scored three times and drove in two, doubling home Danny Surowiec in the third and singling him in again in the fifth. Ethan Stipp went 3-for-4, Steven Ramirez reached four times on two hits and two walks and stole home in the fourth, and Anthony Depetro added a sacrifice fly. Five of the six runs in the fifth were unearned, with Glens Falls errors extending the inning twice. The Dragons collected one hit each from Giorgio Pantepinto, Alex Kerr and Shane Hoover, and drew five walks. Their run came in the sixth, when Taye Robinson lifted a sacrifice fly to center to score Pantepinto.

Kyle McDermott struck out 10 over seven innings for Saugerties, allowing three hits and one earned run with five walks. Billy Kind took the brunt for Glens Falls, giving up nine hits and seven runs over four innings, while Anders Lowkes allowed six runs (one earned) in two innings and Caleb Nelson struck out two in a scoreless frame. The Dragons head to Mohawk Valley on Friday.
