There was no escaping Boonville on Saturday. The Lumberjacks jumped on the Dragons early in both ends of a doubleheader and never let go, taking the opener 11-6 and running the nightcap 15-3 to hand Glens Falls a sweep that dropped the club to 5-11. Boonville scored first — and often — in each game, putting four runs on the board in the first inning of the opener and a staggering 12 in the first of the second.

In Game 1, David Yorke did his best to keep the Dragons in it, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, while Derek Diaz added two hits and Rene Vega drove in a run. Glens Falls scratched out a three-run seventh but had spotted the Lumberjacks too much early, as Argenis Lopez (four RBI), Michael Clarkson (two hits, three RBI, three runs) and Zeb Swangim (three RBI) piled on. Billy Kind went all six innings in the loss but was tagged for 11 runs on 10 hits.

The nightcap got away in a hurry. Boonville batted around in a 12-run first and the game never reached a fourth inning, ending 15-3 by run rule. Starter Paden Mather couldn't record an out, and the staff issued nine walks over two innings as the Lumberjacks pieced together the rout. Giorgio Pantepinto provided the lone highlight, going 1-for-1 with two RBI in a three-run third. The Dragons close the road trip Sunday at Saugerties.
